Truck driver accused of causing fatal accident in New Jersey

A moment of negligence can change the whole course of a person's life. If another's negligence caused the death of a loved one, you would be happy to know that you have the legal right to claim compensation for wrongful death. New Jersey has been the recent scene of a fatal accident that also involved gravely injuring a celebrity.

A truck driver who operating a rig filled with Wal-Mart merchandise has been accused of causing an accident that injured well-known comedian, Tracy Morgan, and killed a fellow comedian and friend of Morgan's. The accident also injured two others in the car carrying Morgan. The truck driver now has to appear before the court to face a death by auto and assault by auto charges.

A report alleged that the driver had not slept for 24 hours before the accident. According to reports, the truck driver tried to abruptly change lanes in order to avoid creeping traffic on the New Jersey Turnpike when his truck hit the funny man's limousine. Morgan underwent surgery for a broken nose, broken femur and ribs and remains in stable condition. An onlooker commented on the tragic events of the accident and said that Morgan's vehicle flipped due to the force of the impact of the truck.

Often, the loss of a loved one due to a Camden County traffic accident calls for consultation with an attorney to determine if compensation is owed for lost income, lost benefits and for emotional pain and suffering caused by the death of a loved one. Compensation in any form can never make up for the loss of a loved one, but it can, however, compensate for financial losses in the form of medical expenses and lost wages.
