Rash of fatal motorcycle accidents plagues Camden County

There has been a string of fatal motorcycle accidents in Camden County recently, all of which have involved motorcycles colliding with another vehicle. If anything, this series of tragedies serves as an important reminder to motorists in South New Jersey to be on the lookout for motorcyclists.

The latest accident took the life of a 20-year-old man from Hammonton. He died at the scene of an intersection at which the biker apparently collided with another car. The driver of the car was not injured. Police are still investigating the cause of this accident, and it is not clear whether they will cite the driver of the other vehicle.

Another young man died from Hammonton died in a separate motorcycle accident that occurred just a few days prior to the most recent fatality. This accident happened in front of a shopping center and, again, involved another vehicle.

An accident that took place in another part of Camden County earlier in August also proved to be fatal for the motorcyclist involved. It also involved a collision with a larger car and happened on a city street near a local library.

Especially during the warmer months, there will be people riding motorcycles on the Camden County's roads and highways. Other drivers need to be aware that these motorcyclists are often more difficult to see, and it requires some extra caution to travel safely around a motorcycle. If a driver does not exercise the required caution, he or she may wind up tragically killing a motorcyclist. In such cases, the responsible person may have to pay compensation following a wrongful death lawsuit.
